Working in a Software Company at Santacruz and as a passion teaching Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate). I am also a volunteer with VOICE-Sanjivani, an NGO for street children at Virar

With Lead since May 2009

How is the experience of working here?

Initially I joined to teach children Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate). Though the place was small, rains also disturbed and time was a major constraint. For almost 3 months we continued with the classes on Sundays. During the session the boys used to be usually regular but the girls had a tough time. On little prodding I learnt that they want to desperately come to class, but unfortunately due to house hold chores they were not able to attend. The best example was Einetti and her sister. They had a younger brother and they used to take turns and practice in the class. Coming from Vashi to Airoli for the class and being with the kids gave me great pleasure. Some of my students from Vashi and my wife, also accompanied me couple of times. And they all appreciated the efforts taken by LEAD.

How has LEAD made a difference in your life?

Einetti's story is still on my mind. I wish something can be done for her. Everytime i see small children begging on street I wonder if something could be done for them. The way I look at children living on streets has changed. I no longer term them as beggers, but just look at them as children begging on streets and child dwells in them who has a right to live and play like any other child on this earth!
