Our Volunteers

Our volunteers are our strength, see how being with LEAD has impacted their lives:

"Its really so heart-warming to read about everyone's wonderful experiences in colourful words.......
believe me friends, I had never even dreamt in my life that I would be seeing such a day.......   Our initiative could deeply touch the lives of so many volunteers.......yes, LEAD has really changed the way we look at others now.....no longer, we just criticize or even hesitate to act...... and what better than this!!!.....because Perception is the first step before our Attitude and behavioural change.... Once our perception is right, we will always think and act appropriately....

Each one of you has been a real motivation-factor for me ...... whether you have worked for 1 month or 1 year or even 1 week...... !!"

How is the experience of working here?
Really a fulfilling experience!
There is much to learn from other LEADers – the passion, the dedication. And believe me - there is lot in life lessons to be learnt from the children too!

How has LEAD made a difference in your life?
My involvement with LEAD has shown me how one can extract time from a 'supposedly busy' life – by reducing on unnecessary activities and channeling it towards fruitful work. It has made my own children (who accompany me now and then to LEAD) to be more aware of the many blessings of life.

Working.
With LEAD since September, 2009.

How is the experience of working here?
It is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it. I've been away from LEAD for 3 months now, & only I know how much I miss LEAD..

I joined LEAD when it still wasn't officially registered as an NGO. And I soon learnt that LEAD isn't just an organization…
It is a place where all the barriers vanish & where the eldest of the volunteers become kids!!
Here the volunteers constantly keep thinking of new ways to teach the kids,
new games to keep them engaged,
new ways to help them open up,
new ideas to bring out their skills,
new ways to celebrate joy with them,
new ways to imbibe good values in them,
new ways to improve their health, to make them independent & strong,
new ways to keep them updated with the outside world,
new ways to make them better people,
new ways to colour their walls,… and also the LIVES of the kids… :)

LEAD is a HOME to these kids.
It's like a plant where all the dedicated volunteers are like the fertile soil nurturing the institute so that our kids bloom like beautiful flowers..
I'm totally amazed by the enthusiasm, dedication, sincere involvement, genuine concern & the daunting spirit of all the LEADers.
Specially the pillars of LEAD – Rupesh, Kailash and Arun.
I've learnt a lot from them.. They personify the statement –
"Be the change you want to see in the world."

And of course, the best part… our kids!! :)
Being with them is pure bliss!
Every kid is special & I hope (like every other LEADer) that they all get what they deserve…

How has LEAD made a difference in your life?
I'd thought I'd be teaching the kids some things, but in turn learnt many precious lessons from the kids and our fellow LEADers..
Importantly, I learnt to value what I have.
And a big lesson-
"Each one of us can make a difference. It only needs a FEW efforts, and a STRONG will…"  :)

How  is the experience of working here?
For me this was one of the first hands on experience on something like this. I was little anxious to this entire new event.  But was relaxed to see thee children were also too egger to see what new teacher has brought for them. I started with explaining the different shapes, which most of them already knew. I then introduced to them the composition of different shapes. It was really surprising to see children’s spontaneous response and clear approach. It was really fun and all together a unique experience. All the best to Lead team and hope to have much more wonderful experiences.

How has LEAD made a difference in your life?
It has changed my view regarding our responsibilities towards society. The experience symbolizes whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.
